Emma (my first panel)

This is my very first panel. It's in honor of my cat Emma who passed away in 2007. She was a fabulous friend and her personality was unmatched.

Beautiful Emma, in 2007.

Choosing the glass was so much fun! Here are the pieces that eventually became part of the panel.

This is a template of the very first piece of glass I cut. You'll notice it's a piece of the lower right corner of the picture.

This is how much I completed in the first day. You might notice I changed the cartoon the next day to move her ears further down her head, which is a lot more accurate to the dimensions of a cat.

Oh, working with glass is a messy affair. I LOVE IT!

The entire piece, foiled and ready for soldering.

After soldering and patina. All that was left to do was draw her pupils.

Emma, 16" x 22", on display in my kitchen.
...and finally found a place on the wall.
